Queens Gazette: Moya, First Baptist Distribute 400 New Coats In East Elmhurst

As New York City faces extreme weather and snow storms, Council Member Francisco Moya, Pastor Patrick Young and First Baptist Church, together with volunteers distributed 400 new coats to families in Queens. The coat distribution took place on Sunday, January 31 at First Baptist Church in East Elmhurst, where adults and children received brand new coats to keep them warm during this winter amid a pandemic. Another 100 new coats were distributed later in the week.

“Every week, First Baptist Church is where the community comes to when they need resources. This distribution of 400 new coats, ahead of the snow storm and as New York City faces extreme cold weather, is another example of how we are giving back to families in need. I’m grateful to Pastor Young and his team, and all our volunteers for their indelible support of our neighborhoods, which have been at the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Council Member Moya.
